# Reddit

> Post to Reddit and pull in discussions and trends

Macaly connects to Reddit so the agent can post and pull discussions for you. Ask it to share a post, summarize a subreddit, or search Reddit, or have it pull Reddit content into the app you're building.

## What is Reddit?

Reddit is a network of communities (subreddits) where people post, comment, and vote on content. With the Reddit integration, Macaly's agent works with Reddit directly: it posts and comments, fetches and searches discussions, and brings Reddit content into your project.

## What you can do

A few examples of what the agent can do with Reddit:

* **Post and comment.** Create text or link posts in a subreddit, reply to posts and comments, and edit or delete your own.
* **Browse and fetch discussions.** Pull posts from any subreddit sorted by hot, new, top, or controversial, get a post's comments, and grab trending or random posts.
* **Search Reddit.** Search across subreddits, or find subreddits by name and description.
* **Check the rules first.** Read a subreddit's posting rules and available flairs so your posts fit.
* **Look up users.** Fetch a Reddit user's profile, karma, and status.

## How it works

You describe what you want in the chat, and the agent handles the rest. Ask for a one-off task, or have the agent build Reddit right into your project.

**Ask the agent directly:**

```
Post a link to our new launch in the r/SideProject subreddit with
the "Show & Tell" flair.
```

```
Pull the top 10 posts from r/webdev this week and summarize what
people are talking about.
```

**Or build it into your app:**

```
Build a feed page that shows the hot posts from r/design and
refreshes when I reload.
```

```
I'm building a community dashboard. Pull the latest posts and top
comments from our subreddit and show them in a list.
```

## Good to know

* **You connect once.** Authorize your Reddit account the first time, and the agent reuses that connection for later requests.
* **Follow each subreddit's rules.** Subreddits have their own posting rules and flair requirements — the agent can check them before posting, but you're responsible for what gets posted.
* **Your account, your control.** The agent only acts when you ask it to, and you can revoke access from your Reddit settings at any time.
