Macaly connects to Google Docs so the agent can create and edit documents for you. Ask it to draft a doc, find-and-replace across one, or export it as a PDF, or have it generate documents from data in the app you’re building.

What is Google Docs?

Google Docs is Google’s cloud-based word processor for creating and collaborating on documents. With the Google Docs integration, Macaly’s agent works with your documents directly: it creates and edits docs, formats content with tables and images, searches your files, and brings documents into your project.

What you can do

A few examples of what the agent can do with Google Docs:
  • Create documents. Start a new doc from scratch or from Markdown, or copy an existing one.
  • Write and edit content. Insert and replace text, find-and-replace across a doc, and add headers, footers, footnotes, and page breaks.
  • Format and structure. Add bullets, tables, and named ranges, set document styles, and insert or replace images.
  • Read and search. Fetch a document’s content as plain text and search your Docs by name, content, or date.
  • Export. Export any document as a PDF to use elsewhere in your project.

How it works

You describe what you want in the chat, and the agent handles the rest. Ask for a one-off task, or have the agent build Google Docs right into your project. Ask the agent directly:
Or build it into your app:

Good to know

  • You connect once. Authorize your Google account the first time, and the agent reuses that connection for later requests.
  • Edits apply to your real documents. The agent changes the actual Google Doc, so be specific about what to add or replace.
  • Your account, your control. The agent only acts when you ask it to, and you can revoke access from your Google Account settings at any time.
